FOGLIA DI LUCE No. II explores the idea that the most enduring forms are already present in nature. Shaped by balance, necessity, and internal logic rather than ornament. The project begins with the leaf: a structure defined by equilibrium and quiet structural intelligence. Instead of replicating its appearance, the design interprets its underlying principle, a central vein supporting a light, organic body.
A restrained torsion introduces movement without disrupting clarity, allowing the silhouette to remain legible from every angle.
Light is integrated along a slender vertical spine, illuminating the form from within. As in a natural leaf, brightness is not applied to the surface but travels through the structure itself, revealing depth, translucency, and material presence.

- hand-blown Murano glass
The base is sculpted from Calacatta Verde marble selected for its mineral depth and quiet warmth: its honed surface provides visual stability and structural gravity, establishing a grounded counterpoint to the translucent glass above.
The leaf is formed in hand-blown Murano glass. Its satin translucency softens the internal light while preserving the sculptural clarity of the form. Together, stone and glass establish a deliberate contrast: mass and lightness, opacity and transmission, permanence and fragility.
The junction between them is treated as an architectural transition rather than a decorative detail.
Each leaf is individually hand-blown in Murano using traditional techniques that allow subtle variations in thickness and translucency.
N° II pieces are identical; slight irregularities are retained as evidence of manual process. At the core of the structure, a slender borosilicate glass tube houses an integrated LED source (2400–2700K). The tube is softly frosted to diffuse the light evenly, allowing illumination to permeate the glass body rather than project outward directly.
The luminous spine functions both as structural axis and light conduit, reinforcing the internal logic of the form.
